To change the crankshaft position sensor in a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix, first, disconnect the negative battery terminal to ensure safety. Locate the sensor, which is typically found near the bottom of the engine block, and remove any components obstructing access. Unplug the electrical connector, unscrew the sensor using the appropriate socket, and then replace it with the new sensor. Finally, reconnect the electrical connector, reassemble any removed parts, and reconnect the battery.
