If it has one, there'll be two heater elements... one will usually be in the right side of the engine (although this can vary by engine make and model) and the other will be on the bottom of the oil pan.
If it has one, it'll attach to the engine at the bottom of the oil pan, and, on some engines, the right side of the block.
