Where is the engine serial number on a 2004 f-250 6.0?

In a very crappy place!!! It's almost imposiable to read if you even get a mirror on it so beware. It's located under the right cyl head at the back of the motor. It's in like a half moon casting on the back of the block right below where the cyl head and block meet. It's hard to read because you have dirt, grime, oil, etc. and not to mention the y-pipe is in your way also!!! A if it's really necassary you can go to the local dealer and either have them look it up on oasis (I do it all the time for warranty work so it can be done) or have them hook up the IDS (scan tool for Ford) and pull it that way. They will prob charge you 100 bucks to hook up the tool so the first way is prob cheapier. Hope this helps happy hunting good luck you will need it.
