On my 1991 fuel injected Festiva the fuel pump inertia switch is located inside the panel at the rear driver's side. Lift the rear hatch and look to the left where the seat belt attaches and the speaker is located. There is supposed to be a small panel (2 or 3 inches square). My panel is missing and there is just an opening. You can see the top of the inertia switch with a red button. If you need to replace it or get to the entire switch you must remove that entire panel. It only takes about 10 minutes to remove that panel.
If the vehicle is involved in a serious accident the inertia switch shuts off the fuel pump.
Chevy did not use a inertia switch. Only ford did. Need to check fuel pump relay and fuse.
