On a ( 1997 ) Lincoln Town Car there is a fuel door release button on the lower part of the drivers door ( see if your 1993 has something similar )

Look in the trunk and pull the wire by the filler neck. It also has a labelled button on the dash by the radio.

Remove drivers door panel and disconnect the wires from the button and cross them, make sure you have battery power. Should open. Replace door panel.
