First it depends on where the installer put it. Mine has 2 different ways of disarming. 1. the flashing lite on the dash, push and release, which will allow only the doors to be unlocked with the remote, but the alarm will be inop. This is called the valet mode. 2. there is also another button on my truck on the kick panel by the emergency brake pedal. Not entirely sure what it does, cause i dont use it.
