I believe that Ford was the only auto maker to use the inertia switch. You may have a bad fuel pump.
Ford vehicles have this switch, no GM vehicle use an inertia switch.
On Fords, they are usually behind the passenger side kick panel. Sometimes called an inertia switch.
The inertia switch on a 1991 Ford E-150 is typically located in the passenger side footwell, near the kick panel or behind the glove compartment. It may also be found on the driver's side, near the lower dashboard. The switch is designed to cut off the fuel pump in the event of a collision. To reset it, simply press the button on the top of the switch.
