The jack should be located under the hood, on the passenger side.
On a 1988 Ford Bronco, the tire jack is typically located under the rear passenger side of the vehicle. You can find it in a compartment beneath the carpet or in the side panel of the cargo area. If you pull up the carpet or look for a small access panel, you should be able to access the jack easily.

It should be in the same compartment as the jack - behind the seat. Agreed. I have a '97 Ford Ranger. The jack and jack handle are in a compartment behind the passenger seat.
