I believe that the jack is in the same place as in my 1996, there ar two compartments behind the rear wheel wells. The left compartment has a plastic box, and is for the owner to stow whatever they please, the right (passenget side ) compartment opens up to reveal the inside painted steel of the vehicle, this is where the jack should be located. There is a plastic containter holding the jack handle and accessories, and the jack should be on top of that with a small metal piece holding it down, with what amounts to a wingheaded bolt through it.
usually the spare tire is either under the rear of the vehicle (held up by a metal cable that is lowered by a small hole where the rod for the jack is inserted and rotated) or inside the vehicle in the rear left corner.
