Here is the number three coil pack located?
drivers side of engine , the front cylinder
Auto Zone will check your engine codes for FREE... It be a bad coil pack, bad plugs or wires..
I don't know if the 2003 have 2 coil packs. But I do know my old 1998 ford expedition XLT (4.6L) Had two coil packs in front on the engine. One on each side of the block.
Which engine??? If it's the 5.4 it is on the number 3 cylinder. Which is the third one back on the driver side of the engine.
Remove engine cover, determine which coil is bad or better yet replace them all. Remove the electrical connection from ignition coil, remove 7/32 bolt from coil (be careful not to drop),pull coil from top of sparkplug and remove.
To replace the number 6 coil on a 1997 Ford Expedition, first, disconnect the negative battery terminal to ensure safety. Locate the coil pack, which is situated on the engine's valve cover; remove the electrical connector and the bolts securing the coil. Extract the old coil and install the new one, securing it with bolts and reconnecting the electrical connector. Finally, reconnect the battery terminal and start the engine to ensure proper operation.
On a 2003 Ford Expedition : It has the Coil On Plug ( C.O.P.) ignition system with ( 8 ) individual coils firewall 4 - 8 3 - 7 2 - 6 1 - 5 front of vehicle
the number 4 cylinder in the engine is misfiring. that SUV should have an ignition coil on plug which is a common problem.
Where are the coil located on a expedition
They are on top the engine below the hoses from the radiators, they are called Coil packs and are aligned on each side of your engine ex 1 2 3 4 ENGINE 5 6 7 8
