The oil dipstick on a 1978 Corvette with an L-48 350 engine is located on the passenger side of the engine. It is positioned near the front of the engine block, towards the intake manifold. You can easily access it by lifting the hood and looking for the dipstick tube, which is typically marked with a yellow or orange handle.
There is about an 8" tube shoved into a hole in the block on the driver's side between 5 & 7. The dipstick fits into the tube.
The oil dipstick on a 2008 Mercedes CLK 350 is located on the passenger side of the engine bay. It is positioned towards the back of the engine and is typically marked with a yellow or orange handle. To check the oil level, simply pull the dipstick out, wipe it clean, reinsert it, and then pull it out again to read the level.
