If you look where the alternator is to the right you can see it. Most likely it is covered with grease but is the only gold part on the car.

In a 1998 Saturn SL, the starter is located on the underside of the engine, near the transmission. To access it, you'll typically need to raise the vehicle and remove the protective cover if present. The starter is mounted to the engine block, and you'll find the electrical connections on the rear side.
NO.
Please visit my BIO page for a link to my Saturn help site. under the link at the bottom that says "Starter" you will find a visual reference to the location of the starter and as to what it looks like.
Under the air box on the back of the intake manifold
Starter's gone, have it replaced.
It is between the alternator and starter, on the firewall side of the engine, nearer to the passenger side of the car.

No. The second generation cradle design was introduced first on 1995 SL series. 1994 was the older first generation design.....very different.
