On my 95 it is located in the transmission under the valve body cover on the drivers side of the transmission. It is the solenoid on the bottom left hand side of the valve body. I had to take the suspension and frame support off and lower the transmission before I could remove to valve body cover. A retainer clip holds the TCC solenoid in place.
The solenoid switch on a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am is typically located on the starter motor itself. To access it, you may need to lift the vehicle and remove any obstructing components, such as the engine cover or undercarriage shields. The solenoid is usually mounted on top of the starter, making it relatively easy to identify. Always ensure the battery is disconnected before attempting any repairs.

There are a bunch of "solenoids" on a typical vehicle, but, the most common usage of the term is in reference to the startersolenoid.Ford starter solenoids have been integrated into the starter unit for a good number of years, including those on the Windstar. So to replace the starter solenoid is to replace the starter.See "Related Questions" below for more about doing just that...After thinking about this a bit it has to be on the starter, which is on the lower left side of the engine. I was trying to confuse this with the starter relay which Ford has long mounted up on the fender and makes things easy to locate starting problems. The solenoid is located inside the starter.
yes....the solenoid is attached but you can take it off by disconnecting the wire tha runs to the starter...and 2 bolts..rather easy took me 15 minutes to replace my solenoid.
