I have a 91 Tempo. My VIN has an 'X' in the 8th(?) "Digit" and that seems to have something to do w/ the engine. My thermostat is in a housing on the driver's side of the engine. It's just below the valve cover, and left of the air cleaner. The housing on mine has 2 sensors w/ wires on it, and a large and small hose fitting. It comes off w/ 2 fairly small-headed bolts.
