I had a 2000 Olds Alero 4 cylinder. There is not a dipstick for the transmission, it can be checked by hoisting the vehicle and remove the fill nut/cap. If the fluid is at the top there is enough. I would recommend taking it to the shop for this, as I do not have the specifics of where it is located.
I have a 2000 Alero v 6 engine automstic trans and mine is what they call a sealed for life transmission, it does have a filler cap but no dipstick. so the previous answer would be correct to check the fluid level and as long as u have no leaks from the tranny u shouldn't have to add any if little at all, Sincerely, TONY ,, Indianapolis, IN.
