Most of the Gm automatics have no plug. This forces you to remove the pan in order to access fluid for a change, this in turn gives you access to the filter itself.
The 1992 V-6 Pontiac Sunbird radiator drain plug, is located on the bottom of the radiator. The drain plug can be removed with a 5/8 socket.

The 1989 Pontiac Sunbird with a 5-speed manual transmission does not have a traditional transmission dipstick like automatic transmissions. Instead, to check the transmission fluid level, you need to locate the fill plug on the side of the transmission case. It's typically a hex or square plug that can be removed to check the fluid level; the fluid should be at the level of the fill hole. If necessary, you can add fluid through this hole using a pump or funnel.

It should be whats called a dealer check transmission. It has an eleven millemeter plug on the transmission itself. You would have to get under the car to check it.
There is no drain plug assuming it is an automatic transmission it is drained when removing the transmission pan and changing the transmission filter.
It may or may not have a dipstick, and probably does not. There is a plug located on the top side of the transmission. Remove this plug and if you can touch lube, it is full. Add lube until it runs out the fill hole. Be sure and use the proper lube as outlined in your owner's manual. It may or may not have a dipstick, and probably does not.
