There is no dipstick on the cobalt. Believe me it's fristrating, you cannot check your fluid at all, have to take it to a dealer.
ACTUALLY DUDE, U CANNNN CHECK UR FLUID AND DRAIN IT. I HAVE A 2007 CHEVY COBALT SS/SC AND U HAVE TO TAKE OFF THE DRIVERSIDE TIRE, THEN ABOVE THE TRANSAXLE THERE ARE TWO BLACK (HEX) ALLEN SCREWS WHICH I BELIEVE ARE 5/16 KINDA BIG, AND THE TOP ONE IS THE CHICK/FILL PLUG WHICH TO CHECK IT IF STUFF IS POURING OUT THATS TOO MUCH U SHOULD BE ABLE TO SEE IT AT THE BOTTOM OF THE GROOVES IN THE HOLE. THE BOTTOM PLUG IS THE DRAIN PLUG...HOPE THIS HELPS U OUT MAN
the transmission filter is in the tranny. you have to drop the tranny pan to get to it.
