The wheel sensors are mounted directly behind the hub assembly.
Follow any wires that lead to the wheel and likely that's the sensor.

The 2006 Ford Taurus has front wheel drive.
The 2006 Ford Taurus has a 9 ft. 0.5 in. (108.5 in.) wheel base.
The NAG1 transmission uses the wheel speed sensors (at each wheel bearing) as the output speed signal.
On the each wheel adjacent to the brake caliper
The 2006 Ford Taurus has a 4-speed automatic.
The vehicle speed sensor is not an independent sensor. The transmission computer uses its output speed sensor to calculate vehicle speed. That signal is sent to the cluster for the speedometer. The ABS also measures wheel speed and it is compared to the transmission reading.
Probably has at least 5 speed sensors, one for each wheel and one for the speedometer in the transmission.
ABS sensors are at each wheel. Trans speed sensors are on the trans. Speedometer signal comes from the abs.
can you forward me a picture of the speed sensor to a 2006 nissan altima?
3.5L high output
I love the languge Chrysler uses for this: "Implausible left wheel sensor distance measurement" It means the sensor, wiring, or wheel bearing are bad causing the sensor to read impossibly high speed or distance.
The code C0040 is related to the right front wheel speed sensor there is a fault from either obstruction on the sensor to detection ring(ie debris on sensor or ring surface) or it can be a bad sensor in need of replacement.
