Any coolant hose could be leaking. Clean the engine bay, removing dirt and grime. Watch closely to see where the leak is. Also check all hose clamps to make sure that they are tight.
Where is the drain for the coolant on the radiator of a 2002 Ford Explorer sport (v6). Thanks.
Leaking? Pulley loose? Noisy? No coolant circulation?
Coolant leak
Leaking coolant, making noise or engine overheating.
Check the water pump. Examine it for traces of dried coolant that might be leaking out of the casting.
Could be a hole in a hose, a heater hose, the water pump could be leaking, there could be a hole in the radiator. Many times condensation from the AC evaporator is mistaken for a coolant leak.
According to the 2000 Ford Explorer Owner Guide : The engine coolant capacity is 14.9 liters ( 15.7 quarts )
If it is leaking on the passenger side I would agree with them; the drian hose could be opened up with caompressed air.Good luck.
No. A leaking coolant pump is caused by a worn seal inside the pump. You will have to replace the pump.
repair the heater hose.
I use antifreeze mixed 50 / 50 with distilled water in my 1995 Ford Explorer as the engine coolant as the Owner Guide shows
I believe that the coolant system capacity is 8.6 quarts ( 8.1 liters ) for your Explorer ( if it has air conditioning )
