If memory serves, it's on the front, straight down from the radiator. I think you can see it from the engine bay.
It is located in the front of the engine, above the oil filter, next to the starter. Your going to have to remove the starter for easier access to the sensor.

There is no distributor cap on a Pontiac sunfire, only a coil pack. coil pack is located on the back of the engine.
As you open the hood, look down and you'll see your engine oil filler, follow it down to where it goes in to the engine and you'll see the starter right in front of it, and the solenoid mounted on top of the starter. If you still can't see it then look at your battery's positive cable and follow it and it will lead you to the starter, it is connected to it.

looking from under the hood its right in front of the engine. look at your oil fill tube follow it down then look a bit to the right of the tube that's the starter. youll have to work from under the car. hope this helps.
