Because it's not academic. I'm sick of sport at school, school is about learning life skills and things for a job. Not sport. If you want to become an athlete go to a specialised sport school. Giving out bits of cardboard to an athlete would be awful, but giving it to and academic achiever as a reward is fine. Not to non-athletes like myself.
