you must change/rebuild all four of the to insure even fuel spray out of the injectors. first remove the top half of the EfI system, once the top half is gone, remove the fuel line from injector rail, disconnect the plugs from injectors. remove injector rail and all four injectors as one. the reverse for installing the. be very careful with the new injectors when installing as they are fragile little thing. never reuse the rubber o rings on the injectors. they are usually the culprit of injector leaks or air getting in.
IF YOU HAVE FUEL INJECTION. ITS POSSIBLE THE FUEL LINES MIGHT BE PINCHED. ALSO CHECK YOUR ALTERNATOR. CHECK THE FUEL RESERVOIR IF YOU HAVE ONE. MAKE SURE THE FUEL IS BEING PUMPED FROM THE TANK-THRU THE FUEL LINES-TO THE INJECTORS. CHECK THE INJECTORS FOR CLOGGING AS WELL. GOOD LUCK.
inside the gas tank
Remove the upper half of the intake plenum. Dealer sells all needs seals as a kit and updated designed spider injector set.
Loosen the fuel line into the carb while the fuel pump is running and see if there is any fuel actually getting TO the carb. If it's getting there you could have a stuck needle and seat valve. If nothing comes out, loosen the line to the first fuel filter and see if you can get any fuel out. If not, the fuel filter could be TRYING to pump but the screen might be blocked or the pump motor might be working but the pump might be worn out.
There are many things that can cause this problem in a car. A bad O2 sensor, or even a bad part in the fuel system. (fuel pump, filter or injectors)
Maybe a clogged fuel filter or bad injectors.
That'd usually mean that it's either running richer on that half, or that those cylinders are getting oil into the combustion chamber.
I'M HAVING A STARTING PROBLEM. I HAVE GAS, AT LEAST A HALF TANK. BUT THE GAUGE READS ZERO. TRUCK TRYS TO START WITH STARING FLUID BUT FUEL DOES NOT SEEM TO BE GETTING TO INJECTORS. i WAS WONDERING IF IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP OR THE FUEL SENDING UNIT?
They are inside the inlet manifold (Penum) to get access you need to unbolt the top half of the penum .The bottom half can stay bolted to the engine block . the plenum is the curved inlet manifold with the throttle body attached to it & the vortec name plate on top. Inside the plenum the fuel injection lines of the multipoint injection system run to the injectors at the end of each line.
you may have a problem with the fuel injectors i hade the same problem and it was the injectors so have some on check them Or it could be your fuel pump. The wiring on top overheats and causes it to shut down the car. It was never a problem 'til I was at half a tank or less. CHrysler takes no responsibility and the Feds are not going to do anything until there is an accident. There is also a recall on certain replacement fuel pumps (which I found out about when they put a recalled replacement in for my repair).
You may have 1 or more injectors that are leaking. Allowing fuel to purge from the lines after you turn off the car. This will leak inti the cylinder and cause a flooded condition.
