You may have a tranmission problem, but there are a couple of easy things to check and repair.
If you shifter wont go out of park then you either have a broken shift selector cable or it needs to be adjusted.
The other thing is to check the shift linkage rod to make sure that the everything is tight and your adjuster rod is set to the proper position for drive, park, neutral etc.
