bad crankshaft position sensor can affect this. i had the same problem with mine, shutting down when stopping at a red light and not letting the engine rev past 3500 rpm during full throttle acceleration.
car would start immediately after shutting down, if u waited for a DTC then it would not start back up.
if it goes bad and stops working, ur engine will crank when starting but will not start since the ASD relay will not power the fuel injectors.
No. Not until now, I haven't had any bad experiences driving my sebring.
crankshaft posistion sensor
13-14.5 while running
The Alero is made by Oldsmobile not Chrysler. My first suspicion would be a failed fuel pump or clogged fuel filter.
If your car just shuts down even on the highway it is most likely the cam position sensor, I needed to replace mine for the same thing
My 2002 Chrysler Sebring has 154K miles on it and the front end rattles when it goes over bumps. When I jack the car up and push in and out and side to side on the wheels their is no movement. Nothing seems to be lose when I pull on the front end. I had the same problem on my 2002 Sebring Lxi Sedan. Problem was worn swaybar linkage and bushings. I had the linkage and bushing replaced and the rattling disappeared.
you may want to get the battery checked or get the ingition looked at
Defective fuel pump would be the most likely cause, but it can be other things.
The Chrysler Sebring and Chrysler 200 are both mid-size sedans, but they differ in design, features, and performance. The Sebring, produced from 2001 to 2010, has a more traditional look and was available in both sedan and convertible body styles, while the 200, introduced in 2010 and produced until 2017, features a more modern and refined design with updated technology and safety features. Additionally, the 200 offers improved engine options and handling compared to the Sebring, reflecting advancements in automotive engineering. Overall, the Chrysler 200 is considered a more contemporary and improved successor to the Sebring.
It depends on the indicator. Check engine means the engine computer has detected a malfunction. The oil can is an oil pressure problem, a battery is a charging problem, etc
The light comes on and stays on when the computer detects a malfunction and sets a code. The system needs checked with a scan tool to know possible causes.
Depends on what you mean by "reset". Are you referring to the counter in the dashboard odometer display? Just hold the button down for 5 seconds while the gas meter is displayed.
