A lot of people are probably going to contest this, but, the main reason is quite simple. The small block Chevy, is the most common, inexpensive, most universal motor there is. Ford changed their set ups all the time, so, they are not as universal. Chevy motors are more common, and they made so many more with high performance parts, so the stuff is easier to find. And, Chevy stuff is much cheaper. Which is a factor when building a car. And, furthermore, from my past experiences, Chevies run the best. Don't get me wrong, I love to see a clean pony car, as much as a Challenger, or Cuda. Hot rods, are hot rods. I do not care what a guy builds, as long as he is participating in the sport.
