the mix doors are broken inside the A/C control box. it,s a big job to repair and will include having the ac refrigerant pumped down , the coolant drained , the dashboard removed, then you can remove the ac box to repair the door. if you never did it count on 10 hours of work after the first time probably could do it in 6.

As another option, I used "Heater Treater" on my wife's Grand Cherokee and it works great. The only down side is that you will no longer have individual climate controls for Driver/Passenger side. The temp is set by the driver's side dials. However, it's a minor inconvenience for not having to pay $1,600 to get it fixed and it only took me about 45min to do. Worth it for me.
