im sorry to say this but with the expereance ive had with cars it sounds to me like its your head gasget i hope this answers your question Either the oil drain ports in the head are stopped up or the valve stem seals are bad. Chevrolets very RARELY have head gasket problems because they have so many head bolts retaining them.
There is not a 350 engine known as a "big block". If the caprice and the truck are the same year it should fit perfectly.
It is located on the side of the Engine block.
At The Battery Junction Block And At The Starter Solenoid
Yes you can, but a 350 is a small block, not a big block.
It was for heavy duty use. Trucks, and the Caprice/Impala.
400 small block 2brl was the basic engine with a 454 big block optional
yes, there is plenty of room for it, you will just have to change motor mounts if your car is a V6.
305 Small Block Chevy engines typically were 8.6 compression ratio and would use 87 octane fuel.
There are many options, but the easiest would probably be the the LT1 350 block. You can get them out of a lot of other chevy's.
Where the upper radiator hose connects to the engine the thermostat is located under the neck protruding from the block.
Check out your control module under your distribtor cap.
yes you should have plenty of room in the engine bay. you probably will need to change the motor mounts and get a different tranny but other than that you should be fine.
