Hey!!!!
Ummm this might not be the best answer but, A Hurricane, Cyclone or Typhoon (they are all the same thing, just different names) are a very very powerful and strong storm. Where as a light breeze is not... A Hurricane could lift you of your feet while a light breeze cannot.
As i said not the best answer but i ! =]
People cannot stop a hurricane. Hurricane's though will stop naturally in a .number of ways: moving over land, moving over cold water, encountering wind shear, entrainment of dry air.
A hurricane over the Atlantic Ocean is simply called a hurricane.
No. Hurricanes cannot occur in the middle of a continent. A hurricane can only form over warm ocean water and will rapidly lose strength if it hits a major landmass.
No. That would have no effect on a hurricane. For one thing, you cannot "break" the eye of a hurricane; it is not a solid object, and the winds of the eye wall are already quite turbulent. Second, the power of a jet's thrust is tiny compared to that of a hurricane. The speed in the jet's thrus may exceed the hurricane's windspeed over a short distance, but a hurricane is massive.
Hurricanes are fueled by moisture that evaporates from warm ocean water. The necessary amounts of moisture cannot be found over land.
A hurricane will weaken if it moves over cold water.
Hurricane Irene formed over the Atlantic Ocean
The term "breeze" likely originated from Old Spanish and Old Portuguese words meaning "north wind." Over time, it broadened to refer to any light wind. The association of soft, gentle winds with pleasant feelings led to the term being used colloquially to describe a gentle, pleasant wind as a "breeze."
