Smell may be (heated) mouse dropping and urine. We found a mouse nest in the (and partially made from the) air filter. Open the air filter and check, mouse was still hiding down the air hose. This search was done in an attempt to find that sour smell.
Bad heater core.
The possible explanation for the smell may be that the heater core in the vehicle has a slight leak, therefore the smell of evaporating antifreeze will come through the vents until it is all dried up. Solution is to take the car to a garage and get the heater core replaced.
Fuel Leak. Possibly the Fuel Pump. Get it checked immediately.
this code will come up when you are having a problem with the Pressure Control Solenoid 'D', that is in the transmission.
Check vacuum hoses and diaphrams under dash and at firewall

No, it's not normal. Some 2003 Vibe's have automatic headlights triggered by a light sensor. If you leave the headlight switch in the middle setting between "on" and "off" they will come on by themselves when it's dark. If you turn them off the daytime running lights will still come on and the high beams will still work but the headlights won't come on automatically at night.
There is probably a fuel leak somewhere. You should have a professional check it out ASAP. There is a possibility of a fire if left alone.
Check the dimmer setting for the dash lights. There should be a dial to adjust the brightness on the dash to the left of the steering wheel.
Yes, gnats can come out of dirty air vents. Gnats can actually come from anywhere. They are very pesky creatures.
