In most cases its always the plug wires, The insulation on them is degraded and they need to be replaced. You can verify this at night by opening the hood(when its raing and car is hard to start) and have someone crank the motor and you will see the plugwires arcing to the engine block, A quick fix to get you out of a tight spot when this happen before you get the wires changed is to spray them with some type of silicon spray(wd40) and you should get it started and get home.
My cav. was doing this and it turned out to be plugs and wires.

For my my '95 Olds. Achieva S has no problem starting after it rains. Maybe it is the wires running from the steering cloumn to the starter. After it rains, the water could get in there and short out the car to the point where the engine kills. I know I always keep check on thoose wires and never have had an issue with that before.
