If a 2005 Grand Prix GTP won't remote start or unlock, it could be due to several issues. Common causes include a dead key fob battery, problems with the vehicle's battery, or a malfunction in the remote start system. Additionally, if any of the safety conditions for remote starting aren't met (like a door being open or the vehicle in gear), it won't function. Checking the key fob and vehicle systems, or consulting a professional, can help diagnose the issue.
Can you not use you key to unlock the truck?
i have konw i deer
No I have a 2001 vw jetta and the remote will not start the car. You can buy a customized alarm system that will allow you to remotely start the car. A Vw does have remote door unlock and lock
No, remote start was not a factory option in 2000.

This is often from a dead battery.
Try taking the battery out of the remote. One of the buttons is probably stuck.
You should be able to get in the Explorer , lock the doors if you wish , and then start the vehicle . That's what I do on my 1995 Explorer XLT
The Viper Remote is a device that enables a vehicle to lock or unlock as well as start from a remote device. The main purpose of this is for increased security as well as convenience in situations of extreme weather.
Lock the truck with remote then unlock truck manually with key
I'm not sure how old this topic is, but I stumbled across it in a Google search and saw it un-answered. Remote start is NOT standard on the 2003 Grand Prix GTP. I'm not even sure if it was an option or not. When my wife bought her '03 GTP used, she had the dealer install an aftermarket remote start for it. I know it was standard on my '06 Grand Prix GXP, but I'm not sure of the other trim levels.
