Could be (1) bearings going bad, this can ruin the bearing race and cost lots more: (2) loose lug nuts, could be the tire and wheel will come off:(3) or maybe some very worn bushings or if it is a late model, maybe the drive shaft is going out.
If you operate a front wheel drive vehicle, the clunking noise you hear may be a CV joint bearing going bad.
Worn out front shocks and struts will make a clunking noise when you go over small box. The strut may actually allows the tire to hit the fender well.
A) Check your outboard CV joint (axle) Ryan B) Check your galiper pin if it is tight
I had periodic clunking in the front tire of a 94 legacy. I Needed the "Ball joint" replaced. Parts and labor cost a couple hundred bucks. Get it fixed b/c if it snaps youll crash. It typically clicked or clunked as I made turns slowly like out the drive way or into a parking lot.

A clunking noise in the front passenger tire of a GMC Jimmy, especially in a 4x4 model, could be caused by several issues. Common culprits include worn or damaged CV joints, loose or failing suspension components, or issues with the transfer case. Additionally, problems with wheel bearings or a misaligned axle can also contribute to such noises. It's advisable to have a qualified mechanic inspect the vehicle to accurately diagnose and address the issue.

A loud clunking noise from the back tire of a 2008 Dodge Caliber could be caused by several issues, including a worn or damaged suspension component, such as a shock absorber or strut. It may also indicate a problem with the wheel bearings, loose or damaged brake components, or an issue with the rear axle. Additionally, a foreign object lodged in the tire or wheel well might create a clunking sound. It's advisable to have a mechanic inspect the vehicle to diagnose and address the issue.
The loud clunking noise from your left front tire could be due to several issues, particularly if you've recently installed new rims. It's possible that the new rims are not properly fitted or balanced, or there may be a problem with the wheel bearings, suspension components, or brakes. I recommend inspecting the installation of the rims and checking for any visible damage or looseness. If the sound persists, it's best to have a mechanic take a look to diagnose and resolve the issue safely.
