The water pump on a 2005 Buick Rendezvous is typically driven by the serpentine belt. This belt is responsible for powering multiple accessories in the engine, including the water pump, alternator, and power steering pump. If the serpentine belt is worn or damaged, it can affect the operation of the water pump and other components. Regular inspection and maintenance of the serpentine belt are essential for optimal engine performance.
