You need to determine if the problem is the transmission or the shift linkage/cable assembly. Disconnect the linkage at the transmission and see if the shift still is stuck or not. Often I have seen the cable At Fault. Be sure to check the fuses to.
I,ll answer my own ?. I disconnected The shift cable at the Xmission and with a 3/4 end wrench on Xmission shift lever I coud move out of park and to each gear. At times movement was free and easy but then lever seemed to stick and require a great deal of effort. I havent ruled out the park- neutral solenoid. I will remove it as soon as I can identify it. Is it the part with the small elect. plug near the shift lever? Leroyr
An S10 is the same as a Chevy S10.
well if your s-10 is stuck in park there is a good chance the transmission is bad in it.
I am not sure why but some vehicles will not permit key removal if the battery is dead
my parking brake release did not take off the parking brake on my 2001 chevy s10? is there a way to disengage it?
The starter solenoid is sticking or stuck.
Check your heater core and thermostat. The thermostat may be stuck open. Does the S10 run hot or cold?
The Chevy s10 was introduced in 1982.
If it is a Vortec it will be inside the tube running from the intake to the air filter it is a rubber hose with this stuck in it!
Yes
A bad thermostat could be stuck open or stuck closed. Drop it in boiling water and it should open. Then close when cooled off.
should i push it off a cliff
