The car is 15 years old so it doesn't have as good compression as when it was new. Besides, -20 is getting somewhat cold and therefore the oil is cold creating drag inside the motor, fuel doesn't combust as good as when it's warm and your battery doesn't turn the motor over as well as it does in the summer.
