make sure you prime the new pump with fuel so it is not dry, pour or squirt fuel into pump From original poster: We took the van to a mechanic. He tested both the old and the new fuel pump. They both worked. We checked all of the fuses and relays and they were all good. So he changed out the fuse/relay panel under the hood of the van and then it worked. The van has been running fine ever since.

i have a 2002 chevy avalanche1500 had transmission fluid changed about 3 months ago i just noticed a little slip and checked the trany fluid it is 2qts over can that hurt the trany and what type of fluid is required
For a 2004 Chevy Express van, the recommended transmission fluid is Dexron III or Dexron VI, depending on the specific transmission model. It's important to consult the owner's manual for precise specifications and recommendations. Additionally, using the correct fluid ensures optimal performance and longevity of the transmission. Always check the fluid level and condition regularly.
When replacing the transmission fluid in a 2003 Chevy Express, you typically need about 12 to 16 quarts of fluid, depending on whether you are doing a simple fluid change or a complete flush. It's important to consult the owner's manual for the exact specifications and to ensure you're using the correct type of transmission fluid, which is usually GM's Dexron-III or equivalent. Always check the fluid level after filling to ensure proper operation.
