The rear door on your 2003 Taurus Wagon may not open due to a few common issues, such as a malfunctioning door latch, a broken or stuck locking mechanism, or a problem with the door handle itself. It could also be caused by a misalignment of the door or internal components obstructing the door's movement. Inspecting the latch and handle for any visible damage or debris might help identify the problem. If you're unable to resolve it, consulting a mechanic may be necessary.
The rear tailgate lock on my taurus wagon will not unlock. How do I open the back panel to get to the mechanism
If it's like my 1999 Taurus Wagon...push in the button that the key goes into
On a 1997 Ford Taurus wagon : Open the rear liftgate and you will see a fill plug by the passenger side tail light
On a 2001 Ford Taurus wagon : Open the rear liftgate , and the refill plug is under the passenger side tail light
OPEN IT WITH A KEY!
There is no release, as such. All you have to do to open the fuel filler door is to press on the door and let go. It will pop open.
Why will the key not unlock the door? If you are using the correct key it should unlock the door. Try both doors. If it will not work you need to call a locksmith to come and unlock the car door with a slim jim.
