Why wont my dodge Dakota start after it sits longer than 12 hr it starts right up in the morning but after that if it sits too long it takes a while to start bad fuel pump or relay?

is this a 2.5 engine? does it do it all the time?next time it does it spray the coil with a silicone spray i have a 98 2.5 and mine was doing the same thing and that's how i fixxed it ..
