Chances are good that your battery isn't providing enough voltage for a clean hot spark in the ignition system. Check fuel flow to throttle body, spark at plugs. Dakotas don't like cold wind blowing in the grill, this cools the block down too much and will make cold weather starting difficult. If you have a block heater plug it in for a few hours and block the grill with card board to prevent the wind from cooling off the rad before trying to restart the engine.
