Why would 1999 Suburban 350 give occasional 420 code Also Has some problems under load going up hills which gives a 300 304 or 307 Any help would be appreciated?
the p0420 is a bad catalytic convertor, downstream oxygen sensor is switching too fast which causes code to set. p0300 is a random cylinder misfire. p0304 is cylinder #4 misfire, p0307 is cylinder #7 misfire etc. misfire codes are probably due to bad secondary ignition i.e. plugs, wires, cap, & rotor if it is not distributorless ignition. secondary ignition problems will also damage catalytic convertor quickly. (cat. will get too much cat food or fuel) DO NOT waste your money replacing downstream 02 sensor, it is working or else vehicle COULD NOT set this code!
