you may need to replace the pressure switch. it just unscrews and screw on the new one. it costs about eight dollars from the dealer and is most likely the problem. Go to www.aircondition.com/tech and perform the self test using the steps (1-6) indicated. This may eliminate the problem.

A/C compressor? You need to hook an A/C manifold guage and check low/high side pressures.

No it will not work. the transmission in the 1993 is electronically controlled and the 1990 doesn't have the wiring or modules to control it. the transmission from a 1991 would work but would require modifying or swapping shifter linkage at transmission.
I'm not sure why you would want to disable this.. There is an on and off switch in the trunk on the passenger side. In the off position the air compressor will not operate.
