I hope you replaced the coolant with a 50/50 mix of coolant and water. Pure coolant will overheat and freeze quicker than a mix. You should have replaced the thermostat, and checked the water pump, and fans for proper operation. Also after draining and refill the cooling system, it must be bled properly, which I suspect is your problem. Trapped air in the system will cause the engine to overheat.
