You may have loose hub bearings. My wife hit a curb and jerked the alingment out. This went unoticed for awhile then the hum got real bad. Take it to a tire shop and have them check for loose wheels. If the bearings go out the car will go one way and the tire will go another. NOT GOOD!!

A loud humming noise that occurs while slowing to a stop but disappears upon acceleration could indicate an issue with the vehicle's wheel bearings or tires. Worn or damaged bearings can create noise as the vehicle decelerates, while the load changes during acceleration may mask the sound. Additionally, it could be related to brake components, such as warped rotors or worn pads. It's advisable to have the vehicle inspected by a mechanic to diagnose the exact cause.
A humming noise in your 2008 Dodge Avenger could be caused by several issues, such as worn wheel bearings, tire problems, or issues with the drivetrain. If the sound changes with acceleration or turns, it may point to a specific component, like the tires or bearings. Additionally, a malfunctioning alternator or power steering pump could also produce a humming noise. It's advisable to have a mechanic inspect the vehicle to diagnose the exact cause.

If a car has a loud humming noise when accelerating, it could be that the air filter is missing. The air filter housing might also be loose. A loud humming noise can also be a signal that there is something wrong with the alternator belt or the fan belt.
where is the humming noise coming from? if it's coming thru the speakers and matches the rev tone of the engine, then you have a bad ground in your stereo.
sounds like a motor mount is broken or a transmition mount. have those checked.
