A motor could run on even one cylinder but the cylinders that are not misfiring will work twice as hard and you could do more damage, for example if your spark plugs got really bad, your ignition coils, wires, or fuel injectors could go bad also.
It has a 6 cylinder motor also known as a V6 I do not think it can run only on 3 cylinders.
poorly
You can run a vehicle on only 4 cylinders but your vehicle will not run properly. It will not make it up hills very well and you will not get very good gas mileage.
It depends on the type of motor. An electrical motor can be run in both directions simply by changing the polarity of the electricity being used to power the motor. A combustion motor (like in a car) would have to be built specificly to run in both directions. Most combustion motors are designed to run in one direction and changing that direction would require changing the firing pattern of the cylinders and updating the timing mechanism to account for the motor spinning the other way. Plus, the device being powered by the motor would have to support bring powered in either direction.
It depends on if the motor is an AC motor, or DC motor. DC motors only run backwards when the voltages get crossed between + and -.
plug wiers or plugs. it could also be somthing with the distributor.
IT can but it is not recommended. It will effect performance, gas mileag, and eventually hurt the motor
WILL IT STLL RUN ?OR IS IT DEAD ?
If the motor is together, the only way, other than running the numbers, is to run your finger along the inside of the harmonic balancer. You will feel a balance weight. The 400 is externally balanced. That is why you always have to use the flywheel from the 400, as well. If the motor is apart, it is easy. 4 and an 1/8th inch bore, verses 4 inch, on a 350. Siamese cylinders on the 400, which only has steam pockets, rather than water jackets. The larger bore would not allow water to be used to cool the cylinders.
yes, It would run as long as the motor was not coupled to a load. Coupled to a load the motor would have no torque and would stall.
Yes, it can run but this will destroy the O2 sensor and the catalytic converter.
Numbering starts at the pully end of the motor (front) with number 1.
