Perhaps leaking valve cover gasket?
Perhaps leaking oil sending unit?
White smoke coming from the engine can mean many different things. One such thing is that your car may have a blown head gasket or that oil is burning in the engine.
a 84 camaro z28 would have a v8 450 hp engine.
If you nicked the oil pan it could cause it to smoke from engine area. Is the smoke coming from the exhaust or engine bay? If exhaust, then I highly doubt it was caused by the curb incident.
White smoke usually indicates a water leak into the engine block. Blue or black smoke would indicate an oil leak. possibly pistons!! my 88 Monte Carlo did that
Itr only takes a small amount of oil to get some smoke, white smoke is coolant, gray smoke would be oil, and black smoke would be fuel.
Black smoke indicates excessive fuel possibly the engine is flooding this would also explain the gurgling.
if it is bluish-gray smoke, you might have one or several busted oil rings. when the engine gets to this point, it is in your best interest to have the engine completely rebuilt, or get a new car
It would take seriously expensive modification
I would think so since they're the same engine, only with some minor modifications
White smoke is eaither a blown head gasket or you have water in the fuel system. This is not to be confused with flooding an engine and seeing white vapor coming out of the exaust in which that would NOT be smoke, it would be gas vapor's. If your burning oil, the smoke will be blue and smells of burnt oil.
Take it to a mechanic right away. The white smoke is from fluid mixing with the oil in the engine. Its probably the head gasket.
white smoke does not always mean oil. Where is the smoke coming from. Sometimes small pin holes in the water system can cause a white smoke or steam which appears to be smoke. If the engine is at idle that would be the only time you could see that type of hole until it gets bigger. Check for any loss of water/antifreeze in the vehicle.
