A ball joint, tie rod, U-joint, or wheel bearing is failed. You need to isolate the source of the noise. If you jack it up you can either find a loose component, or can turn side to side and find the cause.
Bad wheel bearing if you are referring to a grinding noise. A squeak can be many things. Loose power steering belt for one.
Most likely the front squeaking while turning is a brake issue. If this is the case and it is left uncorrected, you could be looking at a very expensive brake job.
Check the shocks first they will squeak pretty bad when going out ( dried out seals ). Bushings will squeak but they would have to be pretty bad to do it when just pushing on the front end.

I have a bad sqeak in the front end of my 2001 Escape. I have not found what is causing this issue. But it appears to be something with the power steering. This annoying squeak only happens when I turn the steering. If you find out anything else on this issue it would be a great help.
