could be the water pump
That is a typical symptom of an air lock in the cooling system
Just follow the top radiator hose to the stat housing, inside the housing is your thermostat...
If you haven't tried this already. Try replacing the radiator cap. Sometimes that is all it is.A bad water pump doesn't always leak when they go bad. The impeller can wear or break loose from its driveshaft.
