Number cause is a vacuum leak. However, there are several engine tuning issues that can cause it.... Incorrect idle mixture, fouled spark plug, incorrect ignition timing or dwell. You name it. But I've found that sizable vacuum leaks cause it more often than any other single cause.

It WILL fit. However, the 1970 bumper has turn signals in it where the '71-'72 front bumpers do not.

The SR-71 had tricycle landing gear made of titanium.
Its a 1972 with a 1970 front end on it.Looks like they modified the 71 fenders to fit the 70 radiator support (there is no side markers in fenders)
