I wouldn't recommend it. You have sensors that hook up to your cats which will trip your check engine lights and throw off your vehicles computer. It's not a good idea on newer model vehicles because of the computers, emissions, and you need that back pressure to ensure that your exhaust is performing correctly.
It will run, but the check engine light will be on, the engine will be under powered, and it is highly illegal.
A catalytic converter on a 2001 Chevy Venture van is located under the vehicle. Follow the exhaust pipe from the engine to the rear of the vehicle. The large object connected to the exhaust pipes between the engine, and the muffler at the rear, is your catalytic converter.
Two,one in front of the catalytic converter & one behind it.
The catalytic converter is found in the exhaust system between the engine and the muffler.
The cost to replace a catalytic converter in a Chevy Venture typically ranges from $800 to $1,500, depending on factors such as the type of converter used (OEM vs. aftermarket), labor rates, and the condition of surrounding components. Parts alone can cost between $300 and $1,000, while labor may add another $100 to $500. It's advisable to get quotes from multiple mechanics to find the best deal.
