Yes, a 4L60E transmission can work in a 1990 Chevy 1500, but some modifications may be necessary. The 1990 model typically comes with a 700R4 transmission, and the 4L60E requires an electronic control system. You will need to install a compatible engine control module (ECM) and possibly modify the wiring harness to accommodate the electronic transmission. Additionally, ensure the drive shaft and mount align properly for a successful swap.
Should be the 700R4 transmission.
NO. They are all together different. You must put the 4L60E transmission BACK in the 1997.
It is bolted in the transmission valve body. You will have to remove the transmission pan to get to it.
Yes. There were no major changes between the two. NEW ANSWER: Yes it will fit. But the problem is that the 1990 computer and transmission wiring harness will not operate that 1993 model 4L60E or the 4L80E transmission. Your 1990 model had the 700R4 in it and that is not electronic controlled like the 93 is.
NO won't work. The wiring harness for the transmission on the 90 model will not hook up to the 97 4L60E transmission. And the ECM / computor on the 90 model will no operate the 97 electronic transmission. You can NOT use anything newer then a 1991
NO YOU CAN NOT. IF the 95 is a 1/2 Ton then it MUST have the 4L60E transmission put back in it. If it is a 3/4 ton then it MUST have the 4L80E put in it. This is due to the computer system that's in the truck.
That would be the 700R4 transmission if it's still the FACTORY one.
yes
NO You can not. The compurter and wreing harness in the 1990 will not hook up are even shift the 4L60E transmission. You MUST put the 700R4 back in it.
No?
It should be the 700R4 transmission.
700 R4 transmission.
